I've been there 3 times. All 3 times there was different staff. Weird.

Only two counters in there but mostly when I've been in I have not had to wait. Also has automated deposit machine for cheques or cash which is instant

Local Chambers of Commerce for B30. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!

Dental Surgeries

Bupa Dental Care Kings Heath

108 High St, Birmingham B14 7LG, UK – 0121 483 4100

Never had a problem always happy to see you and made me comfortable due to beibe scared of the dentist

I had a long procedure on my tooth and I was cared for very well, the dentist and dental nurse that I had were very welcoming. The dentist would go into full detail about dental care and all the infomation that I needed to know. This gave me great confidence. The only thing that I would say is that only one of the receptionist seemed a little moody, on a few occassions. I smile goes a long way. But overall treatment, top class.

Addison Dental Practice

31 Redhill Rd, Birmingham B31 3JS, UK – 0121 476 6218

As someone who has a phobia of dentists I couldn't suggest someone better than Dr Addison! He's very calming, the dental care is to a good standard and over the years I'd say my phobia's definitely improved due to him. I believe he's part time retired now but I'm sure his son/daughter are just as good.

Bournville Village Dental Practice

1 Maple Rd, Birmingham B30 2AE, UK – 0121 472 0189

Having worked for the practice for over 30 years, I have also had my dental care with Bournville Village Dental Practice. Starting in 1986, I was looked after by Mr Ian Payne. After his retirement I have continued my care with Chris Payne. I have over the years had great care and attention from the practice and because of this I've recommended all my family, who still attend. I have always found Chris to be a very trustworthy dentist. His work is of a high standard. I've also experienced the great work of Kathy and Samantha, the practice hygienists. It truly is a great practice with a great atmosphere. Pop in and see for yourself.

I would highly recommend Chris Payne. He has been my dentist for the past 10 years and my wife's family dentist for many more years. Chris is always available to deal with emergencies and will always sort any dental issues out with utmost professionalism. He is also a brilliant source of information regarding cosmetic dentistry and can help with teeth whitening and veneers and will always recommend the best and most cost-effective treatments.

Dr P P Borg-Bartolo - Millennium Medical Centre

121 Weoley Castle Rd, Birmingham B29 5QD, UK – 0121 427 5201

My father has been well looked after at this practice. Had it not been the time spent at a routine appointment and expertise of one of the Drs my father might not be with us now. One one occasion he was rung by a Dr to see how he was getting on with his new medication, I do not know of many that would take the time to do this. It is difficult to get an appointment at times, but I don't think this is any worse at this practice than at other surgery's.

Went for my copd appointment which went well, we had a chat about my old job which she gave me more confidence to talk about, the best nurse ever :)

Dr A K Vora - West Heath Surgery

Bunbury Road Surgery

108 Bunbury Rd, Birmingham B31 2DN, UK – 0121 475 1050

We have been with this practice for many, many years. The receptionists are lovely , they are friendly and extremely helpful. The Dr's and nurses, especially Dr Gupte are extremely efficient and professional. Not once have we ever felt rushed during our consultation. A wonderful surgery, would never consider changing. I would recommend this surgery to any one. Thank you for making our visits less stressful, and for ensuring our wellbeing.

One of the nicest doctors surgery I have ever encountered, reception staff are lovely and down to earth the surgery is clean and welcoming and the doctors are caring and very effective, so glad I chose this surgery when I moved to the area x

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Moseley Hall Hospital

1, Old Hall, Alcester Rd, Birmingham B13 8JL, UK – 0121 466 6000

Fantastic' hospital ! Staff friendly and helpful, I'm not a hospital lover, But Moseley Hall' has to be the best ever x

My mother was admitted to Ward 6 at Moseley Hall Hospital. She stayed there for 6 weeks until she sadly passed away on 27th June. Every member of staff that was involved in her care and comfort were amazing. They were all so kind and caring to both my mother and the visiting family. This made the last few weeks of her life as good as it could have been, given the circumstances of her failing health. Thank you to everyone on Ward 6 from all the family of Emily Carlyle.

West Heath Hospital

Rednal Rd, Birmingham B38 8HR, UK – 0121 466 6000

My sisterinlaw was in this hospital and they where very good to her and family my sisterinlaw was doris abraham .she like to be called betty . Sadly pass a way ..thank you all for being so good to her ..

A member of my family is currently in this home and has been for a a couple of months. Some staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble but then are other members of staff that have no compassion to the resident or to the family member. It is very important that staff realize that a families loved one is in the unit and they should be careful how they talk about that person as i have had to make a complaint in regards to the way we have been spoken to and also my family member. I do not think that enough is done with the residents and they seem to just be put in the day area and no activities take place or one to one chats with the resident. I find that a lot o the time the staff are huddles together talking and eating and are not concerned about what is going on. We have had issues with dirty laundary being sent home with soiled pads in and also lost clothing which is very annoying. The home is kept very clean and the meals for the residents seem to be healthy and of a good variety. I feel it is very important for all staff to think about how we feel as family as some of the attitudes stink compared to others

Parkview Clinic

60 Queensbridge Rd, Birmingham B13 8QE, UK – 0121 333 9955

The staff are all lovely on the ward I was in. Even if I didn't see that when I was there. They put all there time and effort at work for you to feel comftable and as happy as you can be whilst you are there. I think it's one of the best phycriatric hospital in brum. 💜 Shout out to my nurses and csw 💙👌🏻

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Birmingham

Sabai Sabai - Moseley

25 Woodbridge Rd, Birmingham B13 8EH, UK – 0121 449 4498

This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant. The food was delicious with lots of choice. The fish dishes in particular were excellent. The restaurant has a nice contemporary feel to it and the service was good. Will definitely be visiting again.

Love this place so much, food is incredible, really nice ambience and great customer service. My favourite Thai restaurant in Birmingham.

Carters of Moseley

2c St Mary's Row, Wake Green Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 9EZ, UK – 0121 449 8885

Brilliant. All of the staff were friendly, very knowledgeable and gave very clear details about each dish. The menu was very well balanced and combined top quality ingredients with some interesting twists to produce delicious dishes throughout. A lot of thought and skill has gone into this menu.

Wonderful friendly helpful service passionate front-of-house and kitchen service from every single person, thought the food was exceptional when I first ate here some years ago, but the change from a couple of courses with larger portions to smaller portions but lots more of them, has proved a masterstroke, as the concentration of different flavours, textures and quality seems to me to have improved significantly (not that I would know how to improve on a bar that high in the first place), the passion for enhancing the dining experience and growing the culinary palette seems to know no bounds. We're very lucky to have this restaurant within walking distance. Stunning.

Royal Watan Kashmiri Restaurant

602-604 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B29 7HQ, UK – 0121 471 1713

Let me first start of by saying that this restaurant is absolutely brilliant. The food was absolutely brilliant and the service was amazing. I came here for my birthday two nights in a row and it was just as enjoyable both nights with absolutely fantastic service and the most friendly of staff who made it a very memorable birthday. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone for all occasions.

Excellent food, very tasty, generous portions. Very reasonably priced. Very busy towards the weekend so best ideais to book. Highly recommended. Jay

Nursery and Preschools

Weoley Castle Nursery

109 Weoley Castle Rd, Birmingham B29 5QD, UK – 0121 427 1058

Great nursery, entrance for parents is quite small so you may get stuck on a rainy day. But they do some amazing work with the children. Slight improvement needed with parent interaction

Selly Oak Nursery School

26 Tiverton Rd, Birmingham B29 6BP, UK – 0121 472 1700

Amazing nursery! Children were ahead of the curriculum when ready for reception. They care deeply for all families while going above and beyond to ensure every child has the best start to their education in a areas, maths, art, forest school, English all children leave with maths and writing skills

When I initially applied for my son to have a place at Selly Oak Nursery School, it was because it was an outstanding rated nursery and I wanted my precious 3-4 year old little boy to have the best start to his educational life as possible. What struck me as unique about the nursery was its clear emphasis on education for the future, whilst at the same time nurturing each child in the present as an individual who could be all that they choose to be. I was not looking for a nursery, I was looking for a lot more than that. I was looking for a nursery school, and as such wanted a place that was more than just a childcare provider and that offered my son the structure in education that he would need to prepare for the transition to Primary School. I had been continually impressed since his admission to the nursery with the staff, activities, learning opportunities and care given to my son. Before he began at the nursery he was a very different child; he was incredibly shy, barely talking much at all to anyone outside of his family group, and slightly delayed in his speech and communication. What I wanted for him was a place he could call his own, where he would learn for the future and be part of an inclusive community of children and teachers. This wonderful place provided him with that in the bucket load, and I will always be grateful for that. He is now a 5-year-old who has almost finished Reception at an outstanding primary school, who is confident both in terms of the rigours of phonics and mathematics, but also importantly with himself as an individual. The nursery gave him the chance to know what it is to be part of a school community, one where he was cared for in a genuinely positive and encouraging way, and gave him the chance to flourish. Selly Oak Nursery School turned my little boy from a child that was introverted, shy, and anxious, to a child that is supremely confident, infectiously curious, and incredibly keen to learn. The nursery embraced anything that interested my son, and opened his eyes to so many new interests ranging from minibeasts, 3D shape drawing, mud kitchens, bread making, role play, sitting down and reading stories, construction... I am so proud of him, but more importantly he is proud of himself, which is such a happy thing for me to see. My child would not have flourished half as much in a structured Primary School environment (where he is now meeting and exceeding expectations) if it were not for the approach Selly Oak Nursery School took with him and his learning – so much so that my youngest daughter will be attending the Nursery School in September. This place is more than just its outstanding OFSTED report; it is an outstanding community of teachers, parents and children, with a strong belief in the importance of education for all children. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

King Edward's School

Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham B15 2UA, UK – 0121 472 1672

I have two sons at the school and both have benefited from the academic focus the school provides and the opportunity to develop both intellectually and socially. For a provincial day school, its outlook is remarkably non-parochial. It fosters a tolerant and almost international outlook. It has yet to reach a needs blind admissions system but for a UK school gets close. The fact that it offers a generous assisted places scheme speaks volumes about its ethos and commitment to social mobility and inclusion. It is well known in the Midlands but deserves more national recognition. My boys are lucky and thankfully they realise it.

My son moved here from The Priory School, and we can honestly say we are the happiest we've been with the school, environment, and teachers. This school is much more selective (academically) than The Priory School, and so my son finds he is regularly challenged in classes to achieve highly, which he enjoys. A more intelligent surrounding, and would willingly allow him to board here, if it were a boarding school, that it.
