Dental Surgeries

MSC Dental Implants Birmingham

306 Vicarage Rd, Birmingham B14 7NH, UK – 0121 683 5775

The customer service is top class, the dentist and his dental nurse were great. They were very polite and gave great advise. I would recommend this practice.

I was very pleased with the service I received. The whole process and fees were explained thoroughly. I had implants which were carried out professionally and the end result was extremely pleasing. I have recommended the practice to a friend of mine who is looking to have implants.

Oakville Dental

Dental Surgery, 968 Bristol Rd, Birmingham B29 6NB, UK – 0121 472 2234

Oakville Dental is a wonderful surgery. I very rarely write reviews but I have been compelled to do so due to the high quality of service and the level of care my family and I have received. The staff treat the patient and each other with great respect. The level of professionalism and attention to detail shown by the dentists and the general feeling of honesty and goodwill means that I am happy to travel the 2 hours it takes for me to get there. Furthermore, my children who disliked their previous surgery, absolutely love coming here. They are always very happy to be seen, especially by DR. PATANWALA who is just FANTASTIC with them and ever so kind. He always makes them laugh which dispels any nervousness. This is a great surgery and you are always treated with utmost care and respect. Treatments are delivered with great expertise and staff are friendly, honest and above all listen to your concerns and put you at ease. I can't ask for any more.

I received brilliant care from Dr. Patanwala at Oakville dental. I had my front tooth chipped just a week before my wedding - talk about an emergency. I was seen promptly and got through the whole registration process smoothly by the reception staff. Dr. Patanwala in particular was absolutely brilliant. I am no fan of dentists at the best of times but he was calm and caring. He managed to allay my fears and keep me informed throughout the whole process. By the time the wedding came about, I couldn't even remember which tooth had been chipped, he'd done such a fantastic job. I have no hesitation in recommending the practice but in particular him for dental treatment.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Mindelsohn Way, Birmingham B15 2TH, UK – 0121 627 2000

Unfortunately, I have had an opportunity to stay in this amazing hospital. Their staff is well trained and experienced. I experienced their service and I was very impressed with it. Everything was taken care of and the place itself was spotless. I found the building a bit tricky to navigate, but once I got used to its corridors it was fine. So, if you find yourself in this amazing hospital you will be pleased with the service.

I visited this hospital last night due to intense back pain, turned out to be kidney stones. The staff are amazing so friendly caring and empathetic, the waiting times however are ridiculous. I arrived at 9.30pm got seen to at 11.00pm which i understand as they have priorities and emergencies but then I had to wait 3 and half hours to get results back and to be discharged. Overall its a brillant hospital due to the awesome staff but poorly managed need more doctors on shift during weekends and nights to avoid long waiting times.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Omar Khayam

711 Bristol Rd S, Birmingham B31 2JT, UK – 0121 477 2161

Me and my friends go to a different indian restaurant once a month. We split the bill and typically we end up paying around £25 each for a starter a mains with a side or two and some drinks. At Omar Khayam we ended up paying £40 each! The food was nice, but not that nice that it justified us each paying £15 more than any other indian restaurant. So, as I would recommend the place for the food, there are plenty of other restaurants which are equally as good and which are cheaper. Also they have a pretty big fish in what is a tiny fish tank which I strongly disagree with!

Difficult to fault. Food and service was excellent! I would highly recommend.

Nursery and Preschools

Selly Oak Nursery School

26 Tiverton Rd, Birmingham B29 6BP, UK – 0121 472 1700

Amazing nursery! Children were ahead of the curriculum when ready for reception. They care deeply for all families while going above and beyond to ensure every child has the best start to their education in a areas, maths, art, forest school, English all children leave with maths and writing skills

When I initially applied for my son to have a place at Selly Oak Nursery School, it was because it was an outstanding rated nursery and I wanted my precious 3-4 year old little boy to have the best start to his educational life as possible. What struck me as unique about the nursery was its clear emphasis on education for the future, whilst at the same time nurturing each child in the present as an individual who could be all that they choose to be. I was not looking for a nursery, I was looking for a lot more than that. I was looking for a nursery school, and as such wanted a place that was more than just a childcare provider and that offered my son the structure in education that he would need to prepare for the transition to Primary School. I had been continually impressed since his admission to the nursery with the staff, activities, learning opportunities and care given to my son. Before he began at the nursery he was a very different child; he was incredibly shy, barely talking much at all to anyone outside of his family group, and slightly delayed in his speech and communication. What I wanted for him was a place he could call his own, where he would learn for the future and be part of an inclusive community of children and teachers. This wonderful place provided him with that in the bucket load, and I will always be grateful for that. He is now a 5-year-old who has almost finished Reception at an outstanding primary school, who is confident both in terms of the rigours of phonics and mathematics, but also importantly with himself as an individual. The nursery gave him the chance to know what it is to be part of a school community, one where he was cared for in a genuinely positive and encouraging way, and gave him the chance to flourish. Selly Oak Nursery School turned my little boy from a child that was introverted, shy, and anxious, to a child that is supremely confident, infectiously curious, and incredibly keen to learn. The nursery embraced anything that interested my son, and opened his eyes to so many new interests ranging from minibeasts, 3D shape drawing, mud kitchens, bread making, role play, sitting down and reading stories, construction... I am so proud of him, but more importantly he is proud of himself, which is such a happy thing for me to see. My child would not have flourished half as much in a structured Primary School environment (where he is now meeting and exceeding expectations) if it were not for the approach Selly Oak Nursery School took with him and his learning – so much so that my youngest daughter will be attending the Nursery School in September. This place is more than just its outstanding OFSTED report; it is an outstanding community of teachers, parents and children, with a strong belief in the importance of education for all children. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

Weoley Castle Nursery

109 Weoley Castle Rd, Birmingham B29 5QD, UK – 0121 427 1058

Great nursery, entrance for parents is quite small so you may get stuck on a rainy day. But they do some amazing work with the children. Slight improvement needed with parent interaction

King Edward's School

Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham B15 2UA, UK – 0121 472 1672

I have two sons at the school and both have benefited from the academic focus the school provides and the opportunity to develop both intellectually and socially. For a provincial day school, its outlook is remarkably non-parochial. It fosters a tolerant and almost international outlook. It has yet to reach a needs blind admissions system but for a UK school gets close. The fact that it offers a generous assisted places scheme speaks volumes about its ethos and commitment to social mobility and inclusion. It is well known in the Midlands but deserves more national recognition. My boys are lucky and thankfully they realise it.

The best school in England. U have to put ur son in this amazing place!
