Best bank by far

All ways great service .

Halifax

786 Bristol Rd S, Birmingham B31 2NN, UK – 0345 600 3934

Never had any major issues while banking with Halifax. Although I do most of my banking online I have had to pop instore a few times and recieved good customer service and help with any issues. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because the self service deposit machine has been out of order a couple of times. The queues can be long but it varies, all depends on what time you go.

This bank has brilliant customer service. You can always get what you came in for and the staff are so friendly.

I've been there 3 times. All 3 times there was different staff. Weird.

Only two counters in there but mostly when I've been in I have not had to wait. Also has automated deposit machine for cheques or cash which is instant

Very good customer service and counter service. Limited self service functions due to store size.

great customer service

Local Chambers of Commerce for B30. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Birmingham City Council Parks

Mosely Queensbridge Road Depot, Birmingham Area, Birmingham B13 8QB, UK – 0121 303 1111

The Parks Department at King's Heath Park provided the flowers, including floral displays, beautiful bouquets , and button holes for our daughters wedding and the service was absolutely wonderful. The flowers were breath taking and exactly what our daughter had wanted. Such friendly, knowledgeable and all round excellent service was refreshing and welcome.

Northfield Customer Service Centre

1a Vineyard Rd, Birmingham B31 1PG, UK – 0121 303 1111

Some of the staff try the best they can and are compassionate with the public, others don't have the patience or people skills. I understand it is a very demanding and stressful job but people go in deep distress some as a last resort. The building needs updating and the way people are seen. The waiting room is cramped and initial conversations with staff can be heard by others waiting. All in all its gets the job done if you find your in the right place

I went to Northfield neighbourhood office today. I was served both promptly and professionally. One of the staff( wearing a pink tie!!!) offered me a seat as he could see that I am disabled. Sorry for not getting a name. What an excellent office, well done and keep up the good work Dave Collins

Weoley Castle Library

Lovely library staff and my child likes here

Dental Surgeries

Bupa Dental Care Kingsheath

108 High St, Birmingham B14 7LG, UK – 0121 483 4100

The dentist zeinab attawala is fantastic she's great very good, nice, kind, puts you at ease. I haven't been to the dentist for years she has sorted my teeth out no problem at all, the staff are very nice & friendly I would recommend this dentist to anybody well done to all of you especially zeinab 😃

The booking system is awful. Completely useless. Ever since they became Oasis I've been unable to get through on the phone at all, I've been able to leave a message twice (only got replied to once, and they hadn't got the message, just noticed a missed call). They also seem to understaff reception now as well. The NHS dentists I see are great (at least have been ever since they assigned me to Dr Attarwalla/ Dr Honap, although the unsatisfactory dentists I've seen have not been with the practice for some years now). The NHS dental care is good and thoroughly explained (haven't had any private treatment yet but they always go over both options). The only recurring difficulties I've had are with work done by other dentists who haven't been with the practice for a long time, or by NHS dentists at the University Dental Practice long before that.

MSC Dental Implants Birmingham

306 Vicarage Rd, Birmingham B14 7NH, UK – 0121 683 5775

I am pleased with you new implant, I am a nervous patient and yet I was made to feel comfortable and calm while at the practice. The results have been well worth the time and money that has been spent and I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Friendly and professional. Great dentist. Great dental nurses. Great reception staff.i have been very satisfied with the overall service and I am very likely to recommend them.

Dental Surgery

1493 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B30 2JL, UK – 0121 458 1939

I don't usually do reviews but this dentist is my life saver I've been up in agony all night with toothache I called them as soon as they opened this morning and they told me to come straight in I was seen straight away and they have took the tooth out for me so happy to not be in anymore pain also like to mention I wasn't a registered patient until today and they still got me straight in. Staff were lovely and welcoming and put me straight at ease defo not scared to go dentist any more these people have my life time custom I can't thank them enough for seeing me straight away 👍🏻

Wychall Lane Surgery

11 Wychall Ln, Birmingham B38 8TE, UK – 0121 628 2345

Friendly, clean surgery. Fantastic doctors.

Excellent surgery

The Old Priory Surgery

319 Vicarage Rd, Birmingham B14 7NN, UK – 0121 444 1120

Always fully booked but a very clean surgery with polite helpful staff. And children under 5 will always be seen even in emergency for me its a bonus. Apts are hard to get but i wouldnt go elsewhere as i feel the doctors here at this surgery really do put thier patients first.

Druids Health Surgery

27 Pound Rd, Birmingham B14 5SB, UK – 0121 430 5461

Never had a problem getting an appointment, if they cant see me here they refer and book an appointment at their "partner" practices. Luckily i have transport however their partner practices arent too far away. Reception staff and Doctors are always helpful and courteous, waiting time has never been an issue and now the practice has been extended and modernised i consider that a bonus. I moved further away a few years ago, but still within the catchment area. There are other surgeries closer to where i live but wouldnt change my Dr as completely happy here. Would definitely recommend.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Moseley Hall Hospital

1, Old Hall, Alcester Rd, Birmingham B13 8JL, UK – 0121 466 6000

My mother was admitted to Ward 6 at Moseley Hall Hospital. She stayed there for 6 weeks until she sadly passed away on 27th June. Every member of staff that was involved in her care and comfort were amazing. They were all so kind and caring to both my mother and the visiting family. This made the last few weeks of her life as good as it could have been, given the circumstances of her failing health. Thank you to everyone on Ward 6 from all the family of Emily Carlyle.

All the staff members are super friendly and kind.

Parkview Clinic

60 Queensbridge Rd, Birmingham B13 8QE, UK – 0121 333 9955

The staff are all lovely on the ward I was in. Even if I didn't see that when I was there. They put all there time and effort at work for you to feel comftable and as happy as you can be whilst you are there. I think it's one of the best phycriatric hospital in brum. 💜 Shout out to my nurses and csw 💙👌🏻

amazing!!! all the staff are sickk :)

West Heath Hospital

Rednal Rd, Birmingham B38 8HR, UK – 0121 466 6000

A member of my family is currently in this home and has been for a a couple of months. Some staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble but then are other members of staff that have no compassion to the resident or to the family member. It is very important that staff realize that a families loved one is in the unit and they should be careful how they talk about that person as i have had to make a complaint in regards to the way we have been spoken to and also my family member. I do not think that enough is done with the residents and they seem to just be put in the day area and no activities take place or one to one chats with the resident. I find that a lot o the time the staff are huddles together talking and eating and are not concerned about what is going on. We have had issues with dirty laundary being sent home with soiled pads in and also lost clothing which is very annoying. The home is kept very clean and the meals for the residents seem to be healthy and of a good variety. I feel it is very important for all staff to think about how we feel as family as some of the attitudes stink compared to others

After reading the poor ratings that other people had given West Heath Hospital, I was aprehensive about what we would find when we went to visit a close relative who is recovering from an operation on her hip. I can't comment on some of the complaints made by other people reviewing this place, but in my opinion the staff were kind and friendly, the ward was spotless and cheerful, and by all accounts the food was excellent.

Church Road, Birmingham B31 2LX, UK – 0121 475 1518

Beautiful church and grounds.

As a visitor to Northfield, I attended the Christmas Eve Eucharist - my second visit to the Church - and what a spiritual occasion it was. A Church that felt of prayer over centuries, a joyful congregation, which I had also experienced previously, and a sermon that moved me so much I had to repeat the theme to those at home.It is a church family that made me, a visitor, feel welcome. Sadly I have been unable to trace details of the Church leadership as I would like to correspond; how about an inclusion on the Web Page?

Mercian Skip Hire

24 Ebury Rd, Kings Norton, Birmingham B30 3JJ, UK – 0121 458 7383

We hired a skip for household rather than business clearance. I really didn't know what size to order and the staff could not have been more helpful. (If you are unsure I would recommend getting something slightly larger than you think you need... clearing out is very addictive!) While Mercian were not the cheapest the helpfulness was the reason we went with them in the end. Skip delivery went well and it was dropped just where we needed it. Pick up was a little later than expected but this wasn't a problem as the skip was well sited and I imagine its de rigueur with skip hire. We would recommend Mercian Skip Hire

After a few communication hiccups the skip was delivered. It was a tricky tight delivery to rear of house but the driver was a lovely helpful man. The guy who solved my initial problems in office was very helpful and agreed to collect skip next morning, even ringing to say about small delay. Would definatley use again and would recommend.

Birmingham City Council Household Recycling Centre

19 Ebury Rd, Birmingham B30 3JJ, UK

Really helpful team here. Pretty much everything accepted and most things recycled in one form or another. Webcam online can be handy for judging what the queue is like before you make the journey

Very covenant but the traffic is always bad and they have no system of control!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

This is an excellent restaurant. Food always spot on. Staff are friendly and do everything they can to accommodate. Love the place.

Went in after 10 on a dead night with no one around, great service - friendly and very welcoming. They were happy for us to take our time. Food was good. Bring your own booze from shops opposite. All in all, a good choice for a curry in Moseley.

The Cottage Indian Restaurant

1480 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B30 2NT, UK – 0121 459 6867

Very tasty curry and a generous portion with plenty of chicken. The sauces served with the poppadoms were also really nice. You can bring your own drinks too so great all round 😁

Good, tasty food. However, we had a significant wait for food in a restaurant that wasn't very busy, hence 4 stars.

Royal Watan Kashmiri Restaurant

Nursery and Preschools

Selly Oak Nursery School

26 Tiverton Rd, Birmingham B29 6BP, UK – 0121 472 1700

Amazing nursery! Children were ahead of the curriculum when ready for reception. They care deeply for all families while going above and beyond to ensure every child has the best start to their education in a areas, maths, art, forest school, English all children leave with maths and writing skills

When I initially applied for my son to have a place at Selly Oak Nursery School, it was because it was an outstanding rated nursery and I wanted my precious 3-4 year old little boy to have the best start to his educational life as possible. What struck me as unique about the nursery was its clear emphasis on education for the future, whilst at the same time nurturing each child in the present as an individual who could be all that they choose to be. I was not looking for a nursery, I was looking for a lot more than that. I was looking for a nursery school, and as such wanted a place that was more than just a childcare provider and that offered my son the structure in education that he would need to prepare for the transition to Primary School. I had been continually impressed since his admission to the nursery with the staff, activities, learning opportunities and care given to my son. Before he began at the nursery he was a very different child; he was incredibly shy, barely talking much at all to anyone outside of his family group, and slightly delayed in his speech and communication. What I wanted for him was a place he could call his own, where he would learn for the future and be part of an inclusive community of children and teachers. This wonderful place provided him with that in the bucket load, and I will always be grateful for that. He is now a 5-year-old who has almost finished Reception at an outstanding primary school, who is confident both in terms of the rigours of phonics and mathematics, but also importantly with himself as an individual. The nursery gave him the chance to know what it is to be part of a school community, one where he was cared for in a genuinely positive and encouraging way, and gave him the chance to flourish. Selly Oak Nursery School turned my little boy from a child that was introverted, shy, and anxious, to a child that is supremely confident, infectiously curious, and incredibly keen to learn. The nursery embraced anything that interested my son, and opened his eyes to so many new interests ranging from minibeasts, 3D shape drawing, mud kitchens, bread making, role play, sitting down and reading stories, construction... I am so proud of him, but more importantly he is proud of himself, which is such a happy thing for me to see. My child would not have flourished half as much in a structured Primary School environment (where he is now meeting and exceeding expectations) if it were not for the approach Selly Oak Nursery School took with him and his learning – so much so that my youngest daughter will be attending the Nursery School in September. This place is more than just its outstanding OFSTED report; it is an outstanding community of teachers, parents and children, with a strong belief in the importance of education for all children. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

Catherine House

19 Woodland Rd, Birmingham B31 2HU, UK – 0121 475 8416

Highly recommended, both of my children have been here from 1 year until school age.

It isn't about the parent's experience but about the child's. I must say that our daughter has flourished here. The care & development she has received is first class & when the pitter patter of tiny feet comes again, we won't hesitate. Highly recommended.

Ridgway Driver Training

11 Hawthorne Rd, Birmingham B30 1EE, UK – 07966 985137

It has been a pleasure to learn with Oliver. His patient and calming nature put me at ease, and enabled me to develop from a nervous driver into somebody who is now fully confident on the road. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Oliver is a brilliant driving instructor and I would recommend him to everyone. When I switched to Oliver from a different instructor I wasn't very confident and had pretty much accepted the idea that I just wasn't very good at driving. However, Oliver was so patient and so thorough in his teaching that by the end I didn't just reach pass level, but finished feeling genuinely confident in my driving abilities beyond the test - thanks to Oliver I passed first time! He is also very friendly and reliable, and I'm really going to miss his Skoda Fabia which was a great car to learn in!
