All Saints Dental Clinic

2D Vicarage Rd, Birmingham B14 7RA, UK – 0121 444 0496

Great visit to the dentists - both kids really enjoyed the experience and learned about looking after their teeth.

This practice is exceptional, came here for braces and the results are phenomenal, they are friendly and welcoming every time I have visited and have always taken their time in appointments and never rush. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Bells Lane Dental Practice

145 Bells Ln, Birmingham B14 5QJ, UK – 0121 458 5769

So far really good dentist. He spotted problems and offers solutions that my old dentist dialed to spot. Excellent service and polite at all times. Very much recommended.

Went to this dentist today for deep clean and tooth extraction n they was brilliant, gentle as much as they could as I did leave my teeth to long to have treated, they are caring, explanatory, and I would recommend this dentist to anyone. Plus they don't make u feel degraded like the last dentist I went to just because I haven't got pearly whites. Once again an amazing dentist

Moseley Medical Centre

21 Salisbury Rd, Birmingham B13 8JS, UK – 0121 449 0122

This has been my doctors for nearly two years and I've had no real issues here. The staff seem friendly enough and as far as I'm aware the doctors fine, I've had no reason to seek second opinions. The 4* is due to the difficulty there can be in getting an appointment, this is possibly a normal issue with doctors, however, a 5* would be exceptional, so it is a 4

A very nice place. Been there a few months. Nice staff and very friendly. Good facilities.

Woodland Road Surgery

57 Woodland Rd, Birmingham B31 2HZ, UK – 0121 475 1065

Been with this surgery for some time now and I can't speak highly enough of them. For me the highest tributes go to the open surgery which means no lengthy waits for an appointment and I've seen a number of doctors there, all of whom seem to have as much time for you as you need.

Brill brill wouldnt go to any other practice . There the best . Receptionists Doctors Nurses Cleaners .

Vicarage Road Surgery

302 Vicarage Rd, Birmingham B14 7NH, UK – 0121 444 5959

Have come to this surgery for 16 years. Lovely doctors, very friendly and always take the time needed to explain things for myself my daughter and my severely autistic son.

Fantastic Dr's surgery in Birmingham, I have been under several surgeries in 28 years & I can hand on heart say this is the best surgery I've been to, the Dr's & advanced practice nurse is fantastic at there job & includes patients in with the decisions what are made. The reception staff are very polite & friendly & they have time to help people. Could not ask for any more from any of the staff

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Mindelsohn Way, Birmingham B15 2TH, UK – 0121 627 2000

Unfortunately, I have had an opportunity to stay in this amazing hospital. Their staff is well trained and experienced. I experienced their service and I was very impressed with it. Everything was taken care of and the place itself was spotless. I found the building a bit tricky to navigate, but once I got used to its corridors it was fine. So, if you find yourself in this amazing hospital you will be pleased with the service.

I visited this hospital last night due to intense back pain, turned out to be kidney stones. The staff are amazing so friendly caring and empathetic, the waiting times however are ridiculous. I arrived at 9.30pm got seen to at 11.00pm which i understand as they have priorities and emergencies but then I had to wait 3 and half hours to get results back and to be discharged. Overall its a brillant hospital due to the awesome staff but poorly managed need more doctors on shift during weekends and nights to avoid long waiting times.

West Heath Hospital

Rednal Rd, Birmingham B38 8HR, UK – 0121 466 6000

My Dad recently spent almost a month in the Willow ward. The staff were EXCELLENT. Always cheerful and willing to offer advice and information when asked. They were all superb. The hospital itself is spotlessly clean. Well done to all.....you deserve all the praise you get.

A member of my family is currently in this home and has been for a a couple of months. Some staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble but then are other members of staff that have no compassion to the resident or to the family member. It is very important that staff realize that a families loved one is in the unit and they should be careful how they talk about that person as i have had to make a complaint in regards to the way we have been spoken to and also my family member. I do not think that enough is done with the residents and they seem to just be put in the day area and no activities take place or one to one chats with the resident. I find that a lot o the time the staff are huddles together talking and eating and are not concerned about what is going on. We have had issues with dirty laundary being sent home with soiled pads in and also lost clothing which is very annoying. The home is kept very clean and the meals for the residents seem to be healthy and of a good variety. I feel it is very important for all staff to think about how we feel as family as some of the attitudes stink compared to others

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Carters of Moseley

2c St Mary's Row, Wake Green Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 9EZ, UK – 0121 449 8885

This is an eclectic experience for epicureans. Nothing ordinary or plain, a gastronomic tasting of up to 8 courses (plus snacks) available with wine pairing, it's not for the feint hearted or short of pocket. To have the full experience 8 courses are required. The service was sublime, the servers poured and delivered faultlessly giving excellent explanations of each dish and its provenance, well worth their 12.5% gratuity. I've given 4 stars because a couple of taster courses were well below par, but most were quality, of a different and unique pallet. The wines and beers were also top quality if as expensive as everything else.

What can you say about Carter's other than it fully deserves its Michelin star. Despite its acclaim and awards, it'scosy and not at all stuffy restaurant and alongside the food, the staff are wonderful. We had the six course taster, which also included four small bites to start with, and although we were full come the end of the night, it was really well paced. Difficult to decide on my favourite dish as they were all superb. Not the cheapest of meals but you get what you pay for. Would definitely go back.

Sabai Sabai - Moseley

Always enjoy a visit to Sabai in Moseley. Food is excellent. The waitress was particularly helpful and nice on this visit.

Royal Watan Kashmiri Restaurant

602-604 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B29 7HQ, UK – 0121 471 1713

First visit on Saturday night and was amazed how good the place is, service was by far the most friendliest and caring staff, food was of high quality & excellent flavours unique taste to every dish I had the grandma recipe blew my mind away. Will definitely be returning customer.

Staff very attentive. Best curry in Birmingham. Naan with honey...oh yeah!! Not licensed so you take your own alcohol. We had poppadoms, mains, rice and huge naan for 4. Cost under £50. Amazing value. Can't wait to go again.

Nursery and Preschools

Selly Oak Nursery School

26 Tiverton Rd, Birmingham B29 6BP, UK – 0121 472 1700

Amazing nursery! Children were ahead of the curriculum when ready for reception. They care deeply for all families while going above and beyond to ensure every child has the best start to their education in a areas, maths, art, forest school, English all children leave with maths and writing skills

When I initially applied for my son to have a place at Selly Oak Nursery School, it was because it was an outstanding rated nursery and I wanted my precious 3-4 year old little boy to have the best start to his educational life as possible. What struck me as unique about the nursery was its clear emphasis on education for the future, whilst at the same time nurturing each child in the present as an individual who could be all that they choose to be. I was not looking for a nursery, I was looking for a lot more than that. I was looking for a nursery school, and as such wanted a place that was more than just a childcare provider and that offered my son the structure in education that he would need to prepare for the transition to Primary School. I had been continually impressed since his admission to the nursery with the staff, activities, learning opportunities and care given to my son. Before he began at the nursery he was a very different child; he was incredibly shy, barely talking much at all to anyone outside of his family group, and slightly delayed in his speech and communication. What I wanted for him was a place he could call his own, where he would learn for the future and be part of an inclusive community of children and teachers. This wonderful place provided him with that in the bucket load, and I will always be grateful for that. He is now a 5-year-old who has almost finished Reception at an outstanding primary school, who is confident both in terms of the rigours of phonics and mathematics, but also importantly with himself as an individual. The nursery gave him the chance to know what it is to be part of a school community, one where he was cared for in a genuinely positive and encouraging way, and gave him the chance to flourish. Selly Oak Nursery School turned my little boy from a child that was introverted, shy, and anxious, to a child that is supremely confident, infectiously curious, and incredibly keen to learn. The nursery embraced anything that interested my son, and opened his eyes to so many new interests ranging from minibeasts, 3D shape drawing, mud kitchens, bread making, role play, sitting down and reading stories, construction... I am so proud of him, but more importantly he is proud of himself, which is such a happy thing for me to see. My child would not have flourished half as much in a structured Primary School environment (where he is now meeting and exceeding expectations) if it were not for the approach Selly Oak Nursery School took with him and his learning – so much so that my youngest daughter will be attending the Nursery School in September. This place is more than just its outstanding OFSTED report; it is an outstanding community of teachers, parents and children, with a strong belief in the importance of education for all children. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

Weoley Castle Nursery

109 Weoley Castle Rd, Birmingham B29 5QD, UK – 0121 427 1058

Great nursery, entrance for parents is quite small so you may get stuck on a rainy day. But they do some amazing work with the children. Slight improvement needed with parent interaction

Moseley Montessori Nursery

St Columba Church, Chantry Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8DJ, UK – 0121 449 1801

Excellent nursery with a very stimulating environment. The teachers are all great and clearly love what they do. I strongly suggest parents learn about the Montessori way of learning as it will help you make the most of your child's time at the nursery. My daughter is well ahead of what is expected of a 4 year old.

My two boys are currently at Moseley Montessori. They absolutely love it and we have been so happy with their development since they started. The staff are fantastic and really care about each child’s individual needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

Public & Preparatory Schools

King Edward's School

Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham B15 2UA, UK – 0121 472 1672

I have two sons at the school and both have benefited from the academic focus the school provides and the opportunity to develop both intellectually and socially. For a provincial day school, its outlook is remarkably non-parochial. It fosters a tolerant and almost international outlook. It has yet to reach a needs blind admissions system but for a UK school gets close. The fact that it offers a generous assisted places scheme speaks volumes about its ethos and commitment to social mobility and inclusion. It is well known in the Midlands but deserves more national recognition. My boys are lucky and thankfully they realise it.

The best school in England. U have to put ur son in this amazing place!
